The Source Control Action Team is working working upstream at the source on local, regional, and statewide efforts to reduce packaging and promote product take-back and other environmentally preferable packaging including encouraging refusal of plastics. Some of these efforts include:
- Researching information about new legislation (e.g. CAP Bill) and develop outreach to interested parties around relevant legislation
- Expanding the Clean Business Program to encourage businesses countywide to lower the waste they produce, and to recycle/compost as necessary
- Expanding Zero Waste Programs
